Minister Mirisim hands in K1m LEDL acquittal to PNGFA . . . urges other MPs to acquit for more LEDL

Minister for Forests and Member for Telefomin in Sandaun province Hon. Solan Mirisim on March 11th, 2020 submitted his 2019 acquittal of K1 million from the Log Export Development Levy (LEDL). The acquittal was handed over to Mr. Tunou Sabuin, Managing Director of the National Forest Service, implementing arm of the Papua New Guinea Forest Authority.

Realign tree planting program under one umbrella: Mr. Sabuin

Papua New Guinea Forest Authority (PNGFA) is mandated by law through the Forestry Act to plant trees in the country, hence all tree planting activities currently happening outside of the organization need to be better coordinated where there is one channel of funding and one team to plant trees. PNGFA Managing Director Mr. Tunou Sabuin said this during a tree planting session at Kuriva, Central Province on March 18th 2020, to commemorate the United Nations-sanctioned International Day of Forests. Minister for Environment, Conservation and Climate Change Mr. Wera Mori graced the occasion with Mr. Nathan Dingu, the First Secretary of the Minister for Forests Hon. Solan Mirisim.

MD Sabuin’s knitted meri blouses presented on Mother’s Day

MERI blouses knitted by the Managing Director of the Papua New Guinea Forest Authority (PNGFA) Mr. Tunou Sabuin were amongst those presented to mothers on their day marked by the organization on May 08th 2020 at the PNGFA Headquarters in Port Moresby.

MD calls for 5 trees to be planted to mark IDoF 2020

EVERYONE was challenged to plant five trees each to mark the 2020 International Day of Forests (IDoF) on March 21st, 2020. Mr. Tunou Sabuin, Managing Director of the National Forest Service, implementing arm of the Papua New Guinea Forest Authority (PNGFA) made the call when accepting merchandise from the Bank of South Pacific as prizes for the 2020 IDoF Schools Poster Competition.
